In a delete challenge, select the clip(s) in the timeline and delete it using either Delete or Ripple Delete tools located on the tools palette.
Start the Challenge
From the information panel, press Start Challenge to review the timeline.
You will need to use the correct delete type to answer the question correctly.
Delete Tool
To delete a clip, you must first select it. There are two ways to select a clip:
Clicking on the clip
Drawing a box around the clip (shown below)
Then you can either select the DELETE button on the tools palette or use the keyboard shortcut: Delete
The Delete tool removes only the clip and leaves a gap on the timeline.
Ripple Delete
The Ripple Delete tool removes both the clip and the gap left by the clip being removed from the timeline.
To ripple delete a clip, you must first select it. There are two ways to select a clip:
Clicking on the clip
Drawing a box around the clip (shown below)
Then you can either select the RIPPLE DELETE button on the tools palette OR use the keyboard shortcut: Shift + Delete to remove the clip from the timeline.
If you make a mistake, use the undo or redo buttons in the timeline to try again.
Submit Answer
Press Submit Answers when you have deleted all the clips you wish to delete for the challenge.
Note: You may not delete more clips from the timeline than there are answers.
Reviewing Delete Challenge Answers
After submitting an answer, a Score Window will appear. We recommend reviewing all the answers to a challenge after completing it. Identifying gaps in your knowledge is a significant key to getting better. From the Score Window, you may press View All Possible Answers.
Select any clip on the timeline to reveal more about each answer option. The answer colors represented are Green - Correct Answer, Yellow - Partially Correct, Red - Incorrect.
After viewing all possible answers, press the My Score button on the timeline panel to return to the Score Window to see your challenge score. The Try Again button is also available in the Score Window, which allows the user to redo the challenge. Otherwise, select Next Challenge to continue with the lesson.
