Delete
Keyboard Shortcut: [Delete]
The Delete tool removes a clip in the timeline and leaves a gap. The icon looks like two dotted brackets. It can be found in the tool's palette.
Make sure you first SELECT the clip on the timeline that you want to Delete by either clicking on it or drawing a box around it with the mouse.
Ripple Delete
Keyboard Shortcut: [shift + Delete]
The Ripple Delete tool removes a clip and the gap it leaves behind from the timeline. The icon looks like a bracket with a dotted line. It can be found in the tools pallet.
Make sure you first SELECT the clip on the timeline that you want to Ripple Delete by either clicking on it or drawing a box around it with the mouse.
