Teachers can assist students with resetting their passwords on the Students Page.
Find the student's name,e then scroll to the far right to find the Reset Password Link section. There are two options available:
Teachers can use this option with students with a username or e-mail EditMentor account.
Teachers can use this option with students with an e-mail associated with their EditMentor account.
Copy Reset Password Link
Click the "Copy Reset Password Link" button to copy a link and share it directly with a student. When the student clicks the link, EditMentor will prompt them to reset their password.
Username Only Accounts
If a student's account does not have an e-mail associated with it, this is the only option available to a teacher for them to reset their password.
E-Mail Reset Password Link
Click the "Send Reset Password Link" button to send an e-mail to the student's account associated with their EditMentor account. This e-mail will send the student a new reset password link. When students click the link within the e-mail, EditMentor will prompt them to reset their password.
This button will be greyed out if a student uses only a username to log into their account.
Greyed Out Reset Password Link
If both "Reset Password Link buttons are greyed out, the student has set up their EditMentor account through a Google account. If so, have the student try logging in with the "Log In With Google" button instead.
Change Password from Log In Screen
If students use their e-mail address to log into EditMentor, they can also change their password from the EditMentor home page. Please direct them to click the Forgot Password link at the bottom of the screen.
On the following screen, the student will enter the e-mail address for their account. EditMentor will send an e-mail to that account with a link to set a new password.
