The EditMentor Teacher Resources page (located here) provides a roadmap for educators to confidently introduce filmmaking, video production, broadcast journalism, and other media concepts to students regardless of their experience level with the topics.

Teacher Guide Details

The goal of our Teacher Guides is to give teachers a preview of each lesson to help prepare and oversee students through the EditMentor courses. Each guide includes:

  • Lesson Overview

    • A brief overview of what the lesson in EditMentor will cover.

  • Learning Objectives

    • Defined learning outcomes that students should be able to achieve after completing the lesson.

  • Key Terms

    • Definitions of concepts and keywords explored in the lesson.

  • Suggested Discussion Topics

    • Related prompts and questions to engage with the students on the concepts learned throughout the lesson.

  • Suggestion Extension Activities

    • Hands-on, collaborative, and dynamic activities to continue further learning of the concepts taught within the EditMentor lesson.

  • Suggested Worksheet Questions

    • Exam-type questions with answers provide the opportunity to assess further and evaluate student learning.

  • Related EditMentor Help Articles

    • Direct links to support articles related to the lesson that can be used to assist both teachers and students.

  • Blank Student Worksheet

    • A blank worksheet for students with the suggested worksheet questions without the answers attached for easy printing.

All teacher’s guides are built within Google Docs, including the ability to download the file in various formats such as Microsoft Word, Rich Text Format, PDF, and more. Once downloaded, teachers can adjust the document to best fit their specific classroom.

To download from Google Docs, go to File> Download, then select a file type. The file will download onto your computer.
